NextUp ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the NextUp mobile and web application.

Information We Collect

- Account information — name and email address provided during sign-up or sign-in via Google or Apple.
- Prediction data — your award show picks, prediction history, points earned, and leaderboard rankings.
- Usage data — how you interact with the app, collected via Firebase Analytics.
- Device information — device type, OS version, and identifiers used for diagnostics and performance.
Authentication & Security
When you sign in with an email and password, your authentication token is stored securely using your device's native secure storage — iOS Keychain on Apple devices and Android Keystore on Android devices. We do not store passwords in plain text; all passwords are hashed before storage.
When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address. We do not receive your Google or Apple password.
Google Sign-In
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. We do not receive your Google password. Google's use of your data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
Apple Sign-In
When you use Sign in with Apple, we receive your name and email address — or Apple's privacy relay address if you choose to hide your email. We do not receive your Apple ID password. Apple's use of your data is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
Email Communications
We may send you transactional emails, including:
- Welcome emails — sent when you create a new account.
- Password reset emails — sent when you request to reset your password.
- Service notifications — important updates about your account or the app.
We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent. You may contact us to unsubscribe from non-essential communications at any time.
Award Predictions & Points
NextUp stores your award show predictions, points balance, tier status, and leaderboard rankings on our servers. This data is used to operate the predictions platform, display rankings, and determine prize eligibility. Your username and ranking may be visible to other users on public leaderboards.
Firebase Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics, provided by Google, to understand how users interact with NextUp. Firebase collects aggregated data such as session duration, device information, and in-app events. This data is used solely to improve the app experience and is not sold.

How We Use Your Information

Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time through the app's account settings or by contacting us below. We will fulfill deletion requests within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
NextUp is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your Rights
